The restoration of the Ellen B. Ward Memorial Clock Tower is near completion and all repairs for this major project were covered by private donations, a matching grant from the New York State Department of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation and a challenge grant from the Gerry Charitable Trust. Co-Chairs Mayor John Durkin, Angela Anton and Douglas Pierce provided the Clock Tower fund-raising leadership.

The Village of Roslyn, in keeping with its strong historic roots, is preparing to gather material to be placed inside a time capsule that will be buried beneath the floor of the Clock Tower. Trustees of the Clock Tower Trust, Mayor John Durkin, Deputy Mayor Nolan Myerson, Trustee Marshall Bernstein, Trustee Marta Genovese and Trustee Craig Westergard invite you to participate in this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity of sharing "our" history with future generations by letting them know what made the Village of Roslyn a special place to live, work and play in 2005.

If you have a photograph, news article or an idea about an item that you believe would be of interest to those opening the time capsule 50 years from now, please contact the village clerk by calling 621-1961 or e-mail roslynclerk@optonline.net. All suggestions will be considered.
