Mike Strachman, varsity pitcher for the Roslyn Bulldogs, was named All-County at the 42nd Nassau County Baseball Awards Dinner sponsored by the Nassau County High School Baseball Coaches Association held on Wednesday, June 8 at the Marriott in Uniondale.
Strachman was among the leaders in the county, finishing the season with a 1.91 ERA. He was tied for third in the county and tied for fifth on the island in strikeouts with a total of 74 in 55 innings pitched. He has an 86 mph fastball to go along with a "wicked" slider, cutter and change-up. The team's 2005 MVP will be back on the mound next spring as a senior for the revamped Bulldogs and the Honor Society pitcher will be looking to improve upon his stats from 2005.
