On Saturday, Sept. 10, (rain date, Sept. 11) QSAC (Quality Service for Autism Community) will be holding is annual "Believin' Again" Baseball Legends Game.
This event features former major league baseball heroes playing a full game to raise money for QSAC'S programs and services. For the third year, the game will be played at Citibank Park in Central Islip, the home of the Long Island Ducks. Tickets are $10 each, 5 p.m. batting practice, game follows.
There will be a free clinic for children, prior to the game, from 1 to 4 p.m., courtesy of Ferro, Kuba, Bloom, Mangano, Gacovino & Lake, PC. Sign up now, there's a maximum of 250 youths.
A VIP party will be held Sept. 9 at the Courtyard Marriott, 5000 Expressway Drive South, in Ronkonkoma, starting at 5:30 p.m. Tickets are $45 and include dinner and the opportunity to meet and greet former major league baseball players.
In the past, the Baseball Legends Game has seen such greats as 1969 Mets team members Bud Harrelson, Art Shamsky, Jerry Grote, Ed Kranepool and Ron Swoboda, as well as baseball standouts like Lee Smith and Joe Pignatano. All proceeds for the game will benefit quality services for the Autism Community.
