St. Aidan's CYO has announced that final registration for its Boys Basketball Program will be held on Sunday, Sept. 18 between 7 p.m. and 8 p.m., and Thursday Sept. 22 between 7:30 and 8:30 p.m. at St. Aidan's gym located at 505 Willis Avenue, corner of Willis Avenue and Layfayette Street, Williston Park.

Registration forms can be downloaded at the St. Aidan CYO website, www.staidanscyo.org. This registration is for boys in grades 4 to 8. This year's registration fee is $90.00. In addition, boys in 6th through 8th grades will have to purchase their uniforms at a cost of $45.

St. Aidan's CYO enters its basketball teams in the Nassau/Suffolk CYO League and occasionally the Island Garden Super League. The Nassau/Suffolk CYO divides the teams into divisions based on skill, and therefore, the parish must assign each registered team a category level from A through C, with A being the most competitive and C being recreational. As a program, we are required to use our best efforts to enter our teams into the appropriate level.

In order to have our teams placed in the proper skill category level we conduct evaluations and assign players to teams in accordance with their ability. The evaluations are as follows:

4th Grade, Tuesday, 9/27, 6:00 p.m., St. Aidan's Gym

5th Grade, Tuesday, 9/27 , 7:30 p.m., St. Aidan's Gym

8th Grade, Tuesday, 9/27, 9:00 p.m., St. Aidan's Gym

6th Grade, Thursday, 9/29, 6:00 p.m., St. Aidan's Gym

7th Grade, Thursday, 9/29, 7:30 p.m., St. Aidan's Gym
