Bill Costigan is an elected Water Commissioner, who is being attacked and vilified for his public service to our community because he was a former member of the Roslyn School Board.
It has taken a horrific sandal to show that the school board members were misled by the school administration and by the paid consultants (attorneys and accountants) to the Roslyn Board.
Bill Costigan is an outstanding individual who happened to be on the school board when criminality came to light. He should not be punished for the misdeeds of others. He should be lauded for his public service to our community.
In these times, it is necessary that we support and elect only the most qualified persons to oversee and protect our water supply. We need people with Bill Costigan's experience to ensure that the water supply, which we take for granted, will continue to be safe and an inexpensive and quality resource.
For example, Bill Costigan is monitoring the Port Washington Water District, which has extended its water district into Christopher Morley Park. The Port Washington Water District is pumping water from the same aquifer as the Roslyn Water District.
We must have a water commissioner with the skills, business sense and drive of William Costigan.
For integrity and quality water, I urge you to vote for William Costigan on Dec. 13 at the Roslyn Library. The polls are open from 4 to 9 p.m.
