Nassau County's three ice rinks are open for public sessions.
Grant Park in Hewlett and Christopher Morley Park in Roslyn/North Hills offer outdoor ice skating seven days a week, weather permitting and Cantiague Park in Hicksville offers a large, domed indoor ice-skating rink.
Both Grant Park and Morley Park offer three daytime sessions seven days a week. Grant Park offers evening skating on Fridays and Saturdays. Morley has evening sessions Thursdays through Sundays. Cantiague's public session changes monthly. Call each park for specific times and days of operation.
Grant Park is located on Broadway at Sheridan Avenue in Hewlett (571-7820). Christopher Morley Park is located on Searingtown Road in Roslyn/North Hills (571-8123). Cantiague Park is located on West John Street in Hicksville (571-7056).
Ice-rink fees are as follow: Resident adult with Leisure Passport ($5.50); resident child (4-17), $3.50; non-resident adult or resident adult with no Leisure Passport, $12; non-resident child $8; seniors, handicapped, volunteers, $3. Skate rental is $4. Lessons and charter times are available.
The rinks close early on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve and are closed on Christmas and New Year's Day.
