Monument Honors Roslyn Fire Companies
By 10:30 a.m. on Sunday morning, the sweltering heat wave had already hit Roslyn. But that didn't stop up to 75 people from traveling to Gerry Park to honor two of the most venerable institutions in the village: Roslyn Rescue and Roslyn Highlands Fire Departments.

Top TNH Building Department Official Sentenced to One Year in Jail
Nassau County District Attorney Kathleen Rice announced that the man at the center of the DA's sweeping 2007 probe into corruption within the Town of North Hempstead's Building Department has been sentenced to one year in jail by a Nassau County judge after pleading guilty in May to the top charges against him, including five felonies.

Sands Point Sprint August 9
Runners from Roslyn are invited to join in the fun at the "Sands Point Preserve Sprint for the Feinstein Institute" on Saturday morning, Aug. 9. This 5-Kilometer running race offers a unique combination of paved paths and runner-friendly trails through the woodlands and Long Island Sound vistas of Nassau County's Sands Point Preserve, at the north end of the Port Washington Peninsula.
