The Bulls, a fifth-grade hardworking travel basketball team out of Roslyn, led by head coach Steve Schneider and assistant Guy Vitacco, had the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to play at Lou Carnesecca Arena at St. John's University during halftime of the Red Storm/South Florida State game this past Sunday.
In the midst of an incredible 6-1 season through the Island Garden League, they were victorious in the pre-game contest against Jericho Wagner and then again during halftime vs. Manhattan Vocational's sixth-grade team, in front of a packed arena. The kids were cheered on by the crowd and played in a hard-fought game. After the contest, the legend Carnesecca, himself, met with the kids and posed for photos, a thrill in itself.
