The Roslyn High School varsity boys' bowling team had an outstanding season, finishing the season as Conference 1 champions with a 12-0 record. They led the conference throughout the season and put together a remarkable record of 117 wins with only 15 losses. They finished first in the standings with an 88 percent winning average.
The "Bulldog Keglers" consisted of captain Drew Sloyer, Peter Kim, Andrew Kim and Sam Kaplan. Going into the final week of play, Roslyn led the conference in high team average, high team series, and high games. Individually, each of the team members had outstanding games.
Drew Sloyer's high game was 233, Peter Kim's high game was 215, Andrew Kim rolled a 255 and Sam Kaplan posted a 215. In addition, both Drew and Andrew earned All-Conference honors.
With both Drew and Peter graduating, next year's team will be led by Andrew Kim and Sam Kaplan. Hopefully, there are some outstanding bowlers who will compete for the team, said coach Mel Levitan. The motivating theme for next year will be, of course, to repeat this year's terrific accomplishments.
