While the Roslyn High School boys' basketball team goes for the Long Island title this weekend, Emily Lipari has already graduated to New York State honors in long distance running.

On Saturday, March 7, Emily ran to victory at the state track and field championships held at Cornell University.

Emily captured the 1,500-meters in 4:32.59, a personal best time for her. She is now State Champion in this event and Federation Champion based on this weekend's meet.

"This is also her first time for her winter season winning a state champion and federation champion title," said coach Vera Trenchfield.
