Betty Gregory, 80, formerly of Roslyn, died on Oct. 19, 2010 at Hospice of the Comforter, Altamonte Springs, FL, following a courageous battle with lung cancer.
Born Margaret E. McCallum to David T. McCallum and Margaret G. Wolcott (nee Guiler) in Neptune, NJ, Betty graduated from Freehold High School. In 1950 she married John Gregory, a Nassau County policeman. They resided in Manhasset and Roslyn.
Before moving to Orlando in 1984, Betty was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church and worked as a bank teller for the First National Bank of Long Island in Roslyn.
She was devoted to her children, grandchildren and many friends. Betty traveled often and especially loved her many “Disney Cruises.” She was an avid reader and enjoyed knitting and sewing.
Betty was predeceased by her husband John Gregory in 1998 and is survived by her loving daughters, Beth Krukowski, Tulsa, OK, Jacki Churchill, Maitland, FL; and four grandchildren, Emily, Lindsay, Alexandra and Matthew. A Mass was said on Oct. 23 at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Winter Park, FL. Burial was at Greenwood Cemetery, Orlando.
