Kim A. Tamru (nee Verbert), age 51, of of Voorhees, NJ, formerly of Roslyn Harbor, passed away after a long battle with breast cancer on Aug. 29, 2011. The daughter of the late Roger and the late Nena, Kim graduated from North Shore High School in 1977 and received her bachelor’s degree from the University of South Carolina and her master’s degree from Michigan State University. Kim worked as a consultant at Right Management in New Jersey where she recently celebrated her 15th year of employment. She was an avid swimmer who also organized family baseball vacations to the different ballparks throughout the country with the hope of seeing every big league stadium. In addition, Kim participated in several breast cancer walks, including a three-day walk in southern California.
Kim is lovingly survived by her devoted husband, Don; her loving son, Douglas; her beloved brother, Casey Verbert; her beloved sister, Lili (Keith) Newman; her dear sister-in-law, Joanne (Peter) Avis; her dear brother-in-law, Frank (Robin) Tamru as well as her cherished niece and nephews, Kate Newman, Chris Newman and Fred Ray.
Visitation was held Sept. 1 at the Grace Episcopal Church, Haddonfield, NJ. Interment was private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Susan G. Komen for the Cure, Attn: Donor Services, PO Box 650309, Dallas, TX 75265-0309 or www.komen.org.
