Roslyn High School seniors, Ethan Levine and Alain Sherman were named among the top eight presenters at this year’s Long Island Junior Science and Humanities Symposium (JSHS) held at Stony Brook University on March 1. Each Long Island high school was invited to send in the papers of up to six students who had conducted research in science or math. From these hundreds of papers, 80 students were selected to present via Power Point at this year’s symposium. In all, four Roslyn students were invited: Arshia Aalami, Matthew Forrest, Ethan Levine, and Alain Sherman.
As one of the top five winners, Ethan was awarded $500 and invited to attend the National JSHS in Dayton, OH this spring. Alain placed seventh, earning a $250 prize.
