Roslyn High School Senior Melissa Goldstein has written a musical adaptation of Sherwood Anderson’s novel Winesburg, Ohio. What began as four songs written for a class project on the novel, “Winesburg” has blossomed into an hour-long musical. Melissa has written the music, lyrics and script, and has enlisted the talents of RCP to bring Anderson’s classic novel about life in a small American town to the stage.
“Winesburg” will be performed in the Roslyn High School auditorium on Thursday, May 2 at 3:30 & 7 p.m.
Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for students, and free for senior citizens. Net proceeds will be donated to the Save the Music Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to restoring instrumental music education in America’s public schools, and raising awareness about the importance of music as part of each child’s complete education.
