The Nassau County AHRC Foundation Annual Walkathon is Sunday, Nov. 6. There is 10 a.m. registration with an 11 a.m. walk kick-off at Eisenhower Park, Field 6A, East Meadow.
The annual Walkathon, attended by local students, friends, family, staff and supporters of AHRC Nassau, benefits children and adults with intellectual and other developmental disabilities. All walkers who raise $100 or more will have their names entered into a drawing to win 10 tickets to a screening of the highly anticipated motion picture, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part I plus a $50 gift card. The Walkathon is sponsored by Pilot Employee Benefits.
This year’s Grand Marshal is Jessica Pinckney, Miss Long Island. Long Island’s own KJOY 98.3FM will be on site providing music and prizes.
AHRC eWorks will be hosting an e-drive at the Walkathon and will accept used electronic items including computers, monitors, printers, etc., on site for recycling.
