On July 1, local campers at Buckley Country Day Camp in Roslyn spent an exciting day with New York Islanders forward Jeff Tambellini.
As a part of the Islanders Summer I.C.E. Tour, Tambellini traveled to Roslyn to meet the campers and sign some autographs. The I.C.E. Tour is an interactive NHL theme park geared toward the younger fan who travels to local schools, community festivals, hockey rinks, local charity events, and other similar functions throughout the course of the year bringing the New York Islanders into Long Island communities.
All of the campers were given a chance to play on the interactive inflatables, spin the Islanders prize wheel and try their luck at the team’s slap-shot booth. If that wasn’t enough to keep the kids smiling, Tambellini took the time to sign autographs, take pictures, and play street hockey with them.
“Despite the bad weather, we had a fun day today. The kids at today’s camp didn’t let the weather ruin this experience and it seemed like they all had a blast,” Tambellini said.
