Lacrosse Players Receive Post-Season Honors

Five Viking lacrosse players received post-season honors at the Nassau County Lacrosse Coaches Association’s annual dinner held last month at the Crest Hollow Country Club. The dinner honors outstanding lacrosse players from Nassau County.

Senior Michael DeVincenzo and junior Dan Grabher were both named All County as well as Academic All County. DeVincenzo, a two-year starter at attack, lead the team with 26 goals and 39 assists. He was also the team captain. Grabher, a two-way midfielder, amassed 22 goals and 127 ground balls with a 77 percent face-off win percentage despite a midseason injury.

Three Vikings were named All Conference including: senior Nick Alverson, a two-year starter at attack; junior Brian Goetz at midfield; and freshman Jack Goettelmann at defense. Alverson and Goettelmann were also named Academic All Conference. Grabher, Goetz and Goettelmann all return next year to help lead the Vikings.

In addition, saying goodbye after an impressive fourth place finish in Conference C are seniors Jake Alverson, Zach Costello, Kevin Kerr, James Lennon, Kevin McCormick, Michael McCormick, Nick McGinley and Drew Swenson.
