Woodbury Man Top Finisher in Run for Children

Michael Anderson of Woodbury and Donna McMahon of Farmingdale led a record total of 201 runners and walkers who crossed the finish line of the 5th annual Run for Children, hosted by the St. Mary's Children and Families Foundation of Syosset on November 29.

The entire net proceeds of the race went to help St. Mary's in its work caring for over 800 children and families from all walks of life. For the past 104 years, St. Mary's has served boys and girls who are abused, troubled or disadvantaged, and for the past five years, the 5K event has helped it do so.

Race Director Joe Bionco and the Race Committee were pleased at the attendance of the race, which has more than doubled in size from its humble beginnings.

Anderson and McMahon are both members of the Plainview Old Bethpage Road Runners Club, as were 63 other finishers and 31 other award Winners.
