It wasn't the World Series, the NCAA finals, Wimbledon, the Olympics, or even the Superbowl, but one would never know it, judging from the level of excitement when teachers and fifth-graders recently strode into the gym ready to square off against each other in Seaman's annual students vs. faculty volleyball game. All of the student body was there to watch.

The match was a best-of-three series and it looked hopeless for the students as the teachers were about to win the second game after sweeping the first. But quick thinking on the part of fifth-grader Jared Gruszecki saved the day for the student team. He proposed a third game of winner take-all and once the teachers began to show signs of exhaustion, the boundless energy of youth carried the day and the students were victorious.

Physical education teachers and referees for the event, Patrick Smith and Abbe Kierstein congratulated both teams and reminded the teachers that there's always next year!

Participating fifth-graders were: Dillon Prefer, Drew Fazio, Darren Sachs, Shawn Ganz, Justin Saks, Sohil Patel, Eric Bachman, Max Motschwiller, Kyle Walker, Jordan Roschwalb, Jamie Peretz, Crystal Kim, Sydney Soukup, Karli Regan, Lauren Seideman, Stephanie Holtz, Rachel Rosenberg, Stacey Gold, Stella Yom and Samantha Strack.
