Jericho Cartoonist Nominated for Reuben
Before the sun ever pokes its head out to reveal the first glimpse of morning, Al Scaduto is awake in his home studio drawing at 4 a.m. "That's when I like to work the most," the Jericho resident of 41 years explained. And so he does, sketching quirky characters for his long-running and acclaimed cartoon They'll Do It Every Time, a newspaper comic that's been around even longer than Scaduto has inhabited Jericho.

Syosset Residents to Get LIE Walls, but in Unwanted Spot
Once feeling neglected and overlooked, the inhabitants of four Syosset households struggled to convince the New York DOT that they needed exactly what many surrounding homes were afforded ¬ a noise wall built to absorb Long Island Expressway ruckus. After a year's struggle, lengthy road examinations and a decibel reduction analysis, they got what they wanted.

The Monarchs' Rule Begins
History was made last Saturday, April 18 at Syosset-Woodbury Community Park as the St. Edward Monarchs defeated Our Lady of Mercy by a score of 19 to 5 in their inaugural game in the 8th grade division of the CYO of Nassau-Suffolk travel baseball league. St. Edward CYO President Bob Neuendorf was on hand to throw out the first ball and the Monarchs took charge.
