On Monday, May 11, at 8 p.m. there will be a general membership meeting of the Oakwood Princeton Park Civic Association. We are planning to hold this meeting jointly with the White Birch/Old Jericho Civic Association. The meeting will be held at the cafeteria of Robert Seaman Elementary School. Invited guests are Superintendent of Schools Henry Grishman as well as school board candidates Hilari Cohen and Toni Meliambro. Topics on the agenda will be the upcoming school budget, the proposed bond issue and any other matters relating to the school district. You will be able to address questions on these issues to the candidates who will also be given an opportunity to express their qualifications for the position of school board trustee.

There are a number of significant matters related to the school district and the resulting impact that these matters will have on our taxes. Members of the community are urged to attend this meeting so that everyone can make informed decisions on May 19, election day.

The civic association is in the process of distributing a new sidewalk replacement survey. Last year, a significant number of Oakwood Princeton Park residents took advantage of the reduced price the civic association arranged and had their sidewalks replaced. The community is much safer now. Hopefully, more people will avail themselves of this arrangement and all of the remaining broken and raised sidewalks will be replaced.

The Beautification Committee is developing spring planting plans for the areas we maintain. Landscaping and planting of annuals are on the agenda. We need volunteers to help with our efforts. Any one interested in helping out, please contact Joe Lorintz at 935-4159.
