Local Budgets Pass; Syosset Board of Ed Incumbents Remain
Syosset residents gave their school district's all-transportation busing policy the green light on Tuesday, May 19, when more than two-thirds of those visiting the polls voted to pass their budget. The Jericho budget, this year with an emphasis on new books, passed with a similarly successful margin.

Town Denied Appeal in Westbury Drive-in Case
The last litigious stand of the Town of Oyster Bay to prevent the dismantling of the Westbury Drive-in, as well as the construction of a new United Artists multiplex and BJ's Warehouse store, collapsed on Tuesday, May 12 when the Albany Court of Appeals denied the town's appeal request, following a ruling by a lower court which favored the theater's owners.
