On April 28, the White Birch/Old Jericho Civic Association held its board meeting, where a warm welcome was given to Charlie LoPresto, who joined the board. Also, White Birch/Old Jericho would like to welcome our new members and looks forward to meeting them at the next general meeting.

A special thanks goes to North Shore Land Management for donating the beautiful trees, which they placed along the White Birch sign. It adds a nice touch and we appreciate the work they did for us.

One of the topics brought to our attention was the formation of United Civic Associations of North Oyster Bay, Inc. This new association consists of various civics that joined together to support each other. The board voted on becoming a member, as it will give us an equal voice with all other civics regarding town, county and state issues.

The next general meeting will be held on Monday, May 17 at the Robert Williams School. All new members are encouraged to attend to meet the board and members of their community. We will be discussing the budget and election for the school vote, which is taking place the following night, May 18. We will also have a guest speaker from the Parks and Recreation Department who will inform us of any activities, projects, etc., taking place in the community, and answer any questions you may have.

We look forward to seeing you all there.
