Where is the perfect place to live?
Where is the Garden of Eden?
Where is the spot that has no troubles and no strife?
Where do our neighbors love us unconditionally and we adore them in return?
Where can we close the front door behind us and know we are relatively safe from the ills of modern society?
Where, oh where, is Utopia?
My vote is for Long Island, USA!
Listing was a literary technique of Walt Whitman, Long Island's greatest poet.
Glance all around you and then close your eyes.
When you open your eyes you will find all of the wonderful things I have listed below: universities, libraries, theaters, art galleries, parks, museums, churches, synagogues, mosques, ethnic restaurants, riding trails, walking trails, biking trails, newspapers (Anton and others), race tracks, soccer fields (Long Island Junior Soccer League), baseball fields (welcome to the Ducks), football fields, lacrosse fields, supermarkets, shopping malls, hospitals, clinics, railroads, highways, airports, beaches (world class), deep sea fishing, farms (potato and tomato), etcetera, etcetera, etcetera!
I am positive I have left out some pleasures and treasures that you, my readers, hold dear and find wonderful about this island.
Make your own list and enjoy, enjoy, enjoy!
