Grandmother of 21. Great-grandmother of two. Sister of Rita McMurray, Catherine Burns, Peggy Scanlon, Betty Faherty, Theresa Finn and the late Patrick Sullivan and Loretta Maloney. Arrangements were made by the Beney Funeral Home, Syosset. Funeral Mass at St. Edward Confessor RC Church. Interment Calverton National Cemetery. Frank E. Sherman, formerly of Port Washington and Syosset, died on Oct. 8, 1999. WWI and WWII veteran. He was named Chevalier of the National Order of the Legion of Honor, France's highest national award. Father of Frank (Ted) Sherman Jr. and Marilyn Sherman Valeri. Stepfather of Vivian George and George Gilbert. Interment will be held at a later date in Port Washington.
