"I wish to publicly express my appreciation and gratitude to the members of the Chinese and Japanese Friendship Chapters of Syosset International for their dedicated efforts on behalf of our community and society in general.
The Chinese Chapter members have currently presented Chinese cultural programs at the Syosset Senior Day Center, the Presbyterian and Woodbury Nursing Home facilities, and other similar residential facilities in Nassau County, for the enjoyment and edification of the grateful residents.
Members of the Japanese Chapter have been equally active in service to the community. Their Origami workshops presented at Syosset schools have provided the students and faculty with an awareness of an interesting Japanese cultural activity. In addition, a garage sale for the benefit of American flood victims raised a considerable amount of money.
One of the goals of these chapters of Syosset International is to increase community awareness of the contributions that Asian people make to the development of a positive and productive community. To our members who worked with great spirit and dedication, I say, thanks for a job well done for our community!
Anyone interested in joining Syosset International and becoming part of great cultural experiences, please write to Bill Kupec at 29 Narcissus Drive, Syosset, or call 921-1997.
