Forty-three-year-old Glen Wolther of Jericho was the top Nassau County finisher in the 50 Kilometer Run. Walther crossed the finish line in 5 hours, 13 minutes, good for 4th place overall in the Men's Division of the 50 Kilometer Run.
The Long Island Endurance Runs are staged over a loop course that starts on Larabee Avenue in Oyster Bay, finishes back in Oyster Bay at Fireman's Field, and takes in much of the rolling countryside of the northern portions of the Townships of Oyster Bay and Huntington. The 50 mile runners do an extra bend south through Syosset, Plainview and Woodbury before rejoining the 50 Kilometer runners in Cold Spring Harbor, and do an extra leg north through Lloyd Harbor out to Target Rock before once again rejoining the 50K course for the last stretch up Route 25A to Cove Road and East Main Street into Oyster Bay.
