John Peterson, local business owner of Syosset's Framing Productions on Jackson Avenue had the rare distinction of winning National Championship titles in two different sports. Ten years ago, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Peterson won the National Racquetball Championship. On Aug. 6, along with his partner Michael Demetriou of Muttontown, he captured the National Handball Championship, Masters Division, in Coney Island, Brooklyn. It came down to an exciting winning point in the tie-breaking third match.

Peterson trains at Syosset Sportime and can often be seen running the hills of Huntington, where he lives with his wife and two children.

When asked, Peterson attributed his success to many years of dedication, training and hard work. He believes in never giving up and always maintaining a positive attitude. His philosophy has also helped to make him a success at Framing Productions which will be celebrating its 10th year in Syosset.
