Chamber Hosts Holiday Lighting Festival
The Syosset Chamber of Commerce held their third annual Holiday Lighting Ceremony on Dec. 10 in downtown Syosset, an area the chamber has been working so hard to revitalize since their inception approximately three years ago.

Local Teens Skate into National Spotlight
Chloe Katz, a 14-year-old freshman at Jericho High School, and Joseph Lynch, a 15-year-old sophomore at Long Island Lutheran High School in Brookville, skated away with a gold medal in juvenile pair skating at the North Atlantic Figure Skating Championships in Amherst, NY on Oct. 21. This impressive win qualifies the two to compete for the 2001 US Junior Figure Skating Championships on Dec. 12 through 14 in Westminster, Colorado.

Celtics Win a Tough Battle
The Celtics (Sick-Day Health Media) started off to a 19-8 lead after three periods playing the Sonics (Champion Motors). The Sonics then came back on a 9-0 run, led by Jonathan Roach, in the fourth period to cut the lead to 19-17. Roach had seven of the nine points scored in the last period as well as a bullet pass to Alex Berman for the bank shot. The game stayed close and the Celtics led by five after the sixth period.
