Jericho Resident to Hold Book Discussion
Rick Frishman, a resident of Jericho and co-author of Guerrilla Marketing for Writers, will hold a book discussion focusing on publishing at Barnes and Nobel Booksellers, located at 380 Walt Whitman Road in Huntington Station, on Feb 8 at 7:30 p.m. The speech will be a lesson for all different types of writers.

Syosset Baseball Tryouts
All boys registered to play SBA baseball this coming spring ("Little League") and are ages 9-12 must attend a skills tryout. Boys will be evaluated for throwing, catching, hitting and pitching. Performances will be used to determine ranking in the upcoming drafts for AA, AAA and Major League Teams. Boys are requested to wear sneakers, bring their baseball glove and their preferred bat, if they own one. Please note: all boys who played in the Major League Division last season and are returning to Little League baseball this season, must participate in the tryouts. To avoid delays, please arrive for the tryout at a time and locations as indicated: (each boy needs to participate in only one tryout session)

Green Vale's Basketball Team Defeats Buckley
The boys' basketball team at the Green Vale School advanced their record to 6-2 on Thursday, Jan. 25 with their defeat of Buckley by a score of 53-47. High scorer for Green Vale was Jared Steller with 25 points.
