I have been a proud resident of Syosset for 47 years. I love my town and I support and enjoy shopping at my local stores.

What is wrong with the people of Syosset? Why are they allowing all of our small family-owned shops to leave? When Scotts Variety closed, part of my daily life went with it.

I know all of our huge discount stores are available, but do you know any of the salespeople by name? What will happen if the only hardware store in Syosset closes? I sure would miss saying hello to Bill.

Please don't allow Syosset to become a ghost town. Support your local merchants. Keep our people here.
