Jericho Jewish Center Holocaust Memorial
Jericho Jewish Center certainly has perfect timing. Along with "Yom Hashoah," Holocaust Remembrance Day, and right after "Yom Hayatzmiut," Israel Independence Day, the Jericho Jewish Center (JJC) will unveil its dramatic Holocaust Memorial Sculpture in its new Holocaust Memorial Garden. Michael Alfano, a world-renowned sculptor who is very involved with sculpture on Long Island, created the memorial sculpture.

Bobby Kumar, a resident of Syosset, was recently honored by the Nassau Community College Foundation, Inc. at its 2001 Spring Honoree Dinner held at the Vanderbilt in Plainview.

Local Residents Score At Recent Run
Over 700 runners successfully completed the fourth annual Kings Park 15 Kilometer Run on Sunday morning, March 25, including a strong local contingent led by 45-year-old Woodbury star John Del Maestro, who finished in 58 minutes, 38 seconds, and 44-year-old Syosset speedster Steve Gerardi, who finished in 58 minutes, 50 seconds.

Senior Softball Takes Third Place
The Long Island Tigers 70+, a senior softball team on Long Island, took third place in a National Championship held in Panama City, Florida. Elliott Sylvan, a member of the team, is a resident of Syosset.
