Jericho Jewish Center certainly has perfect timing. Along with "Yom Hashoah," Holocaust Remembrance Day, and right after "Yom Hayatzmiut," Israel Independence Day, the Jericho Jewish Center (JJC) will unveil its dramatic Holocaust Memorial Sculpture in its new Holocaust Memorial Garden. Michael Alfano, a world-renowned sculptor who is very involved with sculpture on Long Island, created the memorial sculpture.

Alfano has sculpted the famous and controversial "Stand Up, Speak Out," for Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD), located at Nassau County Medical Center. He is also currently involved in a project for the Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) at the State University of New York at Farmingdale.

The Jericho Jewish Center invites the surrounding communities to view this sculpture at the dedication of the Holocaust Memorial Garden on Sunday, May 6 at 10:30 a.m. Please call 938-2540.
