Woodbury resident Andrew Paolillo, a freshman pitcher at Fordham University, was named to the Louisville Slugger Freshman All-America Team last week.

Andrew compiled a 6-4 record for the year with two saves and a 3.41 ERA in 24 appearances. In 58 innings of work, he struck out 37 hitters. He led the Fordham Rams in wins, saves and appearances and was second in ERA and strikeouts for the season.

Andrew is a graduate of the Green Vale School in Old Brookville and while a senior at St. Anthony's High School in S. Huntington, he was an NSCHSAA All-League pick. He also pitched for the Bayside Yankees in 1999 and 2000 and shares the Bayside season record for strikeouts with current Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Billy Koch.
