The Seventh Annual Sports Festival for the Ronald McDonald House of Long Island, held on June 16, at Cantiague State Park in Hicksville, was a great success, raising over $85,000, thanks to participation from Long Island corporations such as Deloitte & Touche and BWD Group, LLC, of Jericho.

The Deloitte and Touche team.

The day included co-ed softball, volleyball and basketball as well as a Kids' Walk-A-Thon, silent auction, raffles, a bagel breakfast, barbecue and family entertainment.

The Ronald McDonald House is a home-away-from-home for families of seriously ill children undergoing medical treatment in area hospitals. The House allows local families, as well as families from around the country and the world, to be at their child's bedside within minutes, as well as providing a supportive and warm atmosphere during their most difficult time. Due to increased demand, the House is being enlarged to accommodate twice as many families - so that no family will ever have to be turned away.
