On Jan. 20, the driftwood day Camp Hornets edged out the City Lumber Knicks. In a well-played and tiring game, the Driftwood Day Camp Hornets beat the City Lumber Knicks 37-21. Due to a holiday weekend, both teams came with only six players and this made for an exciting and exhausting game for both teams. Driftwood's offense was led by Andrew Amato with 16 points and Jason Blumberg with 12. Zachary Schatz played a great defensive game and contributed with eight points. Excellent play and a great effort was given by Grant Geisler, Garrett Kemp and Kevin Cheng.
City Lumber's team was led by James and Michael Gladstone, Ryan Baltimore, Dasmir Sing and Michael Warren. Both teams played with great intensity and should be proud of their performance.
On Jan. 27, in a game that went down to the wire, the Driftwood Day camp Hornets edged out the Bressler Futures Celtics by a score of 40-33. The fame was tied with four minutes to go when Andrew Amato made a clutch three-point conversion that started the Driftwood rally. Excellent foul shooting by Zachary Schatz near the end of the fame helped cap off the win.
Dritfwood's offense was led by Andrew Amato with 15 points, Jason Blumberg with ten and Zachary Schatz with eight. Adam Weser, Evan Brandoff and Grant Geisler all contributed on offense as well. The defense was led by clutch performances by Garrett Kemp, Grant Geisler and Evan Brandoff.
Jeffrey Needleman dominated the Celtics offense by scoring the leave maximum of 20 points. Great play by Graig Tarasoff, Michael Tischler, Shane Liebenthal, Scott Halpern, Adam Zeiff and Evan Stern kept the game close until the end.
