Jericho's girls varsity track team won the Conference Five Championships on Jan. 26 at a competition held at the State University of New York at Farmingdale. This is the first time in the school's history that the girls have achieved this well-deserved honor.

First year head coach Neal Levy, and a Jericho alum, is very happy for his team. "This is so great," said Levy, "and winning a championship my first year is very exciting. It is nice working, teaching and coaching in the district that I graduated from."

The girls competed in 12 events and came in first in their nine-team conference. Congratulations to the 2001-2002 Girls Varsity Winter Track team: Amy Ahn, Jamie Castle, Jaclyn Cohen, Lindsay Goodman, Danielle Hakim, Shayna Halper, Jen Hamann, Shivone Harding, Caroline Lee, Jennifer Lee, Jen Leong, Jackie Leventon, Jessica Levine, Samantha Li, Sarah Machover, Lisa Marx, Michelle Murphy, Neda Nevab, Alyson Ruvel, Kaitlyn Ruvel, Lindsey Sanders, Justine Shum, Samantha Sperline, Erika Steinger and Amanda Zwilling.
