Local Residents Form Group in Response to Proposed Power Plant
Local residents and community leaders banned together to fight KeySpan's proposed power plant on Spagnoli Road in Melville. As a result of many community meetings and frustrated residents banning together, LIVES was formed - Long Island Voters for Environmental Safety. The mission of the group is to preserve the local quality of life by opposing the proposed 250 mega-watt power plant on Spagnoli Road.

Syosset Braves Play Final Game of Season
The Syosset Braves entered their final game of the season with everything on the line. If they won, they would make the playoffs for the second year in a row; if they lost, they wouldn't. The game's opening ceremony for the departing players (Stu Coleman, Brian Liebman, Chris Hassel, Ross Kandell, John Park, and Captain Jason Parasco) intensified the "sellout" crowd as "Senior Night" began for the Braves.
