Lisa Predmore, a resident of Syosset, was recently named Small Business Person of the Year by the Nassau Council of Chamber of Commerce.
Predmore is a past secretary of the Syosset Chamber of Commerce and also a member of the Village Planning Committee, whose mission is to revitalize downtown Syosset. She is an audiologist for her company, which is named Long Island Audiology & Hearing Aid Service P.C. with fully handicapped accessible offices in Manhasset and Syosset. She does diagnostic tests for infants through adults and does special testing of central auditory processing and hearing aid evaluations. Predmore is also the president of audioextras.com, an Internet company that provides assisted listening devices and hearing accessories.
"I was very excited to hear about this honor," said Predmore. "We have over 150 members in the chamber and it was nice to be chosen. I received many citations from local politicians and also a nice plaque."
The chamber initiates many events and Predmore has been involved with the chamber for three years, this being her second year on the board. Grand openings, installation dinners, holiday lighting festivities, networking parties, monthly meetings and many other events are only a part of what the chamber contributes to Syosset.
The Syosset Chamber is a relatively new chamber with many new ideas. "The shamber is growing in leaps and bounds and people are learning about us, realizing that we are helping the community, now know that we exist and are here to stay," said Predmore.
Believe it or not, Predmore does have spare time and in that time she is working toward achieving her Doctorate in audiology and she is three-quarters of the way through.
