Sarah Elizabeth Hughes, born May 2, 1985, the second daughter of John and Amy Hughes of Great Neck, figure-skated to a gold medal in the 2002 Winter Olympics at Salt Lake City. Critics have called her performance '' flawless.'' We call her Olympic performance ''absolutely, perfectly flawless.''

Nassau County Executive Thomas Suozzi recently addressed members of the media to discuss some of the topics pertinent to Nassau County's communities. Since he has taken office, most of Suozzi's time has been spent dealing with Nassau County's fiscal problems, but the communities and residents are important to him. He addressed some issues concerning Syosset and surrounding communities.

Jericho High School to Raise Funds for the Nassau County Kings
The Jericho Public Schools Department of Health, Physical Education and Athletics and the Jericho High School Blue Key Club joined together to present a night of family entertainment on Friday, Jan. 11, at 6:30 p.m. The Nassau County Kings, members of the National Wheelchair Basketball Association, played the Jericho faculty in a challenging and fun-filled game of Wheelchair Basketball.

Kobak Competes in Prestigious European Tennis Championships
Elizabeth Kobak, a Jericho eighth-grader, recently posted impressive results at two prestigious European Tennis Association events in England and France. One of only four girls selected by USA Tennis High Performance national coaches to represent the country on a two-week tour of Europe, Kobak is the first girl from Long Island to receive this honor.
