At one point in the season, the Home Run Hitters had 3 wins and 3 losses. From that point on, they never lost another game, winning 7 in a row including last week's finals against the Jazzy Girls. Living up to their name, the game started with a solo home run by Madel Beaudouin. Other highlights of the 8-run first inning were hits by Samantha Margolin and Carrie Morowitz.

The Jazzy Girls rallied back and the game became a seesaw battle with the lead changing 6 times in the first 4 innings. The Home Run Hitters kept it close with some key defensive plays including a tag play at 3rd base applied by Remi Marlow and a solo putout at 2nd base by Lindsay Pearlman. Another big factor was the solid outfielding provided by Samantha Schwarz and Brianna Catania, limiting the Jazzy Girls to singles on most balls hit into the outfield.

The Home Run Hitters busted the game open by scoring 10 runs in the 5th inning. The rally began with singles by Lauren Kolodny, Rachel Ajzenman and Stacey Kaplan, and was capped with a 3-run triple by slugger Alexis Farber. After that, the Home Run Hitters protected their lead with superb defense including a long fly ball caught by Nicole Guttenberg and 2 pop-ups caught by Katelyn Lesse ( who also scored 4 times in the game).

Coaches Ronnie Guttenberg, Rob Marlow and Dave Morowitz would like to thank the parents for helping with the equipment and coaching the bases. Most of all we would like to thank all the girls for a very memorable season.
