Syosset Couples Collects Lotto Winnings
Ira and Stella Edelblum, residents of Syosset, were awarded a check for $7,558,502 last Thursday after winning $13.5 million in a New York Lottery drawing held on Oct. 9. The Edelblum's won on a quick pick ticket with the numbers 5, 24, 29, 31, 39 and 48.

The Andrew Marc Monarchs defeated the www.lensland.com Starzz, 24-18, in a back-and-forth Jericho Athletic Association girls 5th and 6th grade basketball game at Cantiague School on Jan. 18.

Jericho Jets Finish Second in Tournament
Last week as the New York Jets disappointed fans by losing to the Oakland Raiders the Jericho Jets were thrilling fans by finishing second in the boys Under 9 soccer tournament at West Islip High School. The team was led by Corey Rodgan who was selected offensive MVP for the tournament and Evan Zinger who allowed just two goals in five games. Leo Weiner scored goals with pinpoint accuracy. Jake Falk and Stephen Watt were all over the field both on offense and defense. And players from the other teams feared the trio of Andrew "Mickey" Weiss, Perry Gold and Scott Novak when going after a loose ball. Jordan Brett brought the crowd to their feet scoring a goal with no time left clinching Jericho's second place finish. This was the team's first tournament. The next tournament is Feb. 1 in Lindenhurst.
