Residents for a More Beautiful Syosset held a meeting on Tuesday, May 6, which gave local residents the opportunity to be updated on local issues and ask questions of Residents board members. Also, Joe Lorintz, the guest speaker, updated those in attendance about environmental issues and explained the newly proposed Aquifer Overlay District.

Syosset Budget Vote for School District and Library set for June 3
The Syosset Board of Education has proposed a budget for the 2003-2004 school year, which is expected to cover all of the district's expenses in running its 10 schools with a total enrollment of 6,507 students.

Jericho Lacrosse - Starting to Roll
The Jericho third and fourth grade and the fifth and sixth grade travel lacrosse teams headed down 107 North to Glen Cove stadium on Sunday morning, May 4 to face off against the Glen Cove teams. These two communities have played some close matches over the past few years and this game on the first Sunday in May was no different. Actually both games were extremely similar as the offensive momentum shifted between teams after the half time breaks, but the Jericho defenses prevailed to secure two Jericho victories on this exciting day of lacrosse.

JAA Intramural Soccer Registration for Fall
The Jericho Athletic Association has scheduled registration for the fall at Jackson Elementary School cafeteria on Monday, May 12 and Tuesday May 13 from 7 - 8:30 p.m. For Pre-K and kindergarten it is $100 for fall 2003 and spring 2004 and for first grade - fifth grade it is $85 for fall only.
