Syosset High Class of 2003 Graduates With Many Honors
Beaming graduates in red and white gowns and proud and happy families filled Tilles Center at C.W. Post University for the Syosset High School Class of 2003 Commencement on June 25. The 458 graduates together were awarded a record $9,684,684 in college scholarships based on merit. Two hundred forty-four students graduated with honors in one or more subjects and 29 achieved the highest honors - honors in five subjects.

Jericho Galaxy Finish Season With Another Win
The Jericho Galaxy Boys U12 finished their most successful season on record with a victory over a Little Neck team that also had a very successful year. The Little Neck Rockets had won the Waldbaums Cup for their division and were undefeated in league play until Saturday's 1-0 loss. The win gave the Galaxy the Division Championship. The lone Galaxy goal was scored by Jesse Shapiro in the first half. In a game that was played in a steady rain and then thunder and lightning for the last 3-5 minutes the Galaxy played the game of their young lives.

JAA Holds Annual Picnic and Baseball Playoffs
The Jericho Athletic Association tradition of sponsoring an annual picnic during its baseball and softball playoffs was not stopped by the continuing rainy weather we have experienced this spring. On Saturday morning, June 14, after another week of wet weather, the barbecues by Zorn's was set up in anticipation of a big turnout. By mid morning the sun came out as the playoffs began. During the day, our various leagues, with some very exciting playoff games were constantly using all five baseball fields at the high school.
