The Jericho Galaxy Boys U12 finished their most successful season on record with a victory over a Little Neck team that also had a very successful year. The Little Neck Rockets had won the Waldbaums Cup for their division and were undefeated in league play until Saturday's 1-0 loss. The win gave the Galaxy the Division Championship. The lone Galaxy goal was scored by Jesse Shapiro in the first half. In a game that was played in a steady rain and then thunder and lightning for the last 3-5 minutes the Galaxy played the game of their young lives.

The defense was amazing, just when you thought Little Neck had a shot, defenders Michael Nails Camhi, Derek Dash Ash, Jonathan Chen, Michael Tischler, Ryan Baltimore, Scott Halprin, Kyle Birmbaum or Michael Warren would come out of nowhere and save the day. Galaxy goaltender Zach Reimer who played a flawless game in conditions that can only be described as ugly was at the top of his game. Then again with the weather being so bad all season Zach and his teammates had a lot of practice dealing with the elements.

The offense of Trevor Wolfson, William Surowiec, Robbie Cohen, Dylan Ferro, Lucas Espuche, Evan Brandoff, Andy Moskovic and Jesse Shapiro kept the pressure on the Little Neck goalie and their defense all game long. The game was very physical and the Galaxy was ready for the challenge.

The coaches and their trainer put in endless hours with this team for the past three years and without their leadership, this would not have happened. Coaches Bill Ferro, Lance Wolfson, Jeff Baltimore and Trainer Pedro - a great job in getting the players to play as a team.
