The Syosset Varsity Lacrosse team played their sixth game of the year Saturday night at Farmingdale against the Dalers. The Braves came in looking to make up for their loss against Baldwin earlier in the week and to give head coach John Calabria his first win after the birth of his third child just two days earlier. This game was also a rematch of last year's Nassau Class A Championship.

The whole Syosset team looked fired up throughout the game as they were hungry for a win. The game started out with the defenses dominating. Farmingdale struck first late in the first quarter for the only goal of the quarter. The Braves were still fired up knowing that a one goal deficit could be made up and they did not want to waste another chance to beat Farmingdale.

Second quarter was all the Braves. Junior Sean Rosen got the Braves the ball by dominating the face offs. They scored four goals in the quarter. Matt Wachler had two, long stick defenseman Brian Danvers put in one and Sean Rosen scored a terrific diving goal. The Braves shutout the Dalers in the second quarter with great defense and goaltending. At halftime it was 4-1 Syosset. At the beginning of the third the Braves knew the game was far from over and would have to continue to play hard. The third period was scoreless.

At the start of the fourth quarter the Braves felt they had played better than their opponents for the first 3 quarters and it was theirs to win if they could just put a few more points on the board and continue to play tight on defense. Farmingdale struck first on a one on one. With just a two goal lead Syosset knew it was not over, especially against a perennial lacrosse powerhouse like Farmingdale. The Braves then got goals from junior Adam Saks, senior Chris Loftus and sophomore Corey Barkoff who scored his first career varsity goal. The defense, anchored by Danvers and goalie Jimmy Lubin held strong throughout the rest of the game and the Braves finally avenged last years Nassau Championship game loss. The final score was 7-2 Syosset.

A great game was played by the entire defense and senior Jimmy Lubin played another amazing game in the cage for Syosset.

Syosset goal scorers: Wachler (2), Loftus, Rosen, Saks, Danvers, Barkoff. Syosset saves: Jimmy Lubin 19 - a career high.
