Jericho's U10 baseball team opened the fall season by sweeping Levittown this weekend 13-0 and 16-3.
In game 1, Tyler Russell had already proved he could hit 4 for 4 and have three stolen bases, but Tyler can also pitch, pitching a no-hitter in four innings striking out seven batters. Leo Weiner flexed his muscles and showed his speed going 2 for 3 with a triple. Ryan Alpert, Max Adler, Zach Kent, Brett Perlstein, David Resnick and Alec Stearn all contributed to Jericho's 12 hits. Defensively, Brandon Dorman made a top ten catch to end the game.
In game 2, Max Adler had the speed gun dial hitting its max striking out five batters in three innings with Leo Weiner closing the deal in the fourth inning striking out two batters.
Offensively, Brandon Dorman went 3 for 3, Leo Weiner 2 for 2, Max Adler and Zach Kent 1 for 2. The bruise club award went to Ryan Alpert and Brandon Dorman who each got hit twice. Defensively Brett Perlstein made three terrific plays in the field. Andrew Weiss and Nicholas Kirazus combined to throw out four runners attempting to steal.
