The Syosset Braves PeeWee Red Cheerleading Squad reached a new goal last Sunday. The girls performed a full body lift for the first time during their half time show. The squad is made up of Kelly Terjesen, Samantha Molloy, Casey Powers, Gigi Ericson, Ariel Leder, Nicole Rapfogel, Brandi Kobren, Jordyn Boscia, Danielle Schimel, Jane Magid and Nicole Drayzen.
The squad began the season by doing a few cheers at halftime; to keep the fans energized. A few games into the season, they added a cheer routine set to music. The crowd was thrilled to see the girls perform so enthusiastically. Next the girls added "Go Braves" signs. The fans loved the signs too. This week, the girls earned the right to be extremely proud of themselves by completing their lifts. The fans are left wondering, "What will these cheerleaders do next?"
Dubbed the "Dream Team" by their coaches, this squad is made up of 6 to 8-year-old cheerleaders. Lifting a girl the same size and age -- is no easy feat. This team has practiced diligently each week and their practice has paid off.
In addition to having fun, the Syosset Braves Cheerleaders are learning to reach their goals and be a part of a team - great life lessons for anyone.
If you want to catch the Syosset Brave Cheerleaders, come down to the Syosset High School football fields every Sunday, until Nov. 14.
