Buddy & Clyde's Girls Defeats Storks

On May 11th, at Walt Whitman field, Buddy & Clyde's Girls defeated the Storks 21-0.

"Crusin" Kim Allan had an outstanding night. She pitched a two-hit shut out with nine strikeouts. "Joltin" Joëlle Porush, "Tricky" Niki Tuck and "Slick Vic" Victoria Gee had great at bats, continuing their hitting streak to five games. They went on to score eight runs between them.

"Way to be" Gina Marie Marchese went 2/4 and had great plays in the field that prevented at least two runs from scoring. "Blazin" Blake Brandes waited for that perfect pitch and went on to score three times. "Jammin" Jennifer Colton got on base with a hard hit single and went on to score twice.

"Electric" Erika Moran, "Tear em up" Tara Ann Hickey and "Jazzy" Jessica Frankel continue to help the team by getting on base and going on to score. "Homerun" Hallie Alonji gave her all before she left to cheer her sister on at a Thompson Middle School concert.

On Storks, Samantha Merenstein did an amazing job in left field and at bat. She had a stand-up double with a hard hit ball up the center. Rachel Rubin, in her debut pitching, closed out the game with two strikeouts and showed that she is one to watch out for in the future. Apparently, talent runs in the family: Her sister Sara struck out three in the game.

Apollos Top Superior Auto Restyling 9-5

The Apollos outdistanced Auto Restyling in a 9-5 classic at H.B. Thompson field on May 20.

Breaking out with three hits and 6 RBIs was Lily Mummert of the Apollos. She was joined in the hit parade by Olivia Faden, who drove in two runs. Also hitting and scoring were Allison Zaffos, Lexi Gertler and Amanda Fields.

Zoe Saunders of Superior Auto Restyling kicked off the team scoring in the first inning with a blazing smash inside the first base line that went for a triple and drove in two runs. Zoe tripled again in a final inning rally, driving in Rachel Price, who doubled, and Elizabeth Sablesak, who walked.

Both teams provided tight defense in the field and moved the well-played game along at a rapid pace.
