Historically and philosophically speaking those countries with a viable "middle class" between the rich and the poorer classes are upscale and dominant countries. Those having only the rich and the poor tend toward being "second" rate and possibly lower rated countries.
Many realize that it is the "middle class" that supports the rich and usually feeds the poor. Our country currently, so far, is one of a three-tiered country - rich/middle class and the poorer classes.
In a three-class country, democracy usually prevails. Most of the so-called two-tiered countries and their people strive to emulate our systems of democracy and our economic system. But recently our Federal government has been chipping away at our freedoms/principles/practices and, also, our economic system. What we enjoy so far has been handed down to us by our forefathers. Let's keep it intact for those who follow us in the future.
The recently passed horrendous tax cuts by both the Democrats (some) and the Republicans in Congress tend mainly to benefit mostly the rich in our society and some in the lower classes, at the expense of our middle class. If our leaders kill off the middle class, then we will reap the seeds of destruction of our three-tiered country. We had better as citizens wake up and turn around this movement to eliminate the middle class before it is too late.
Yours for a better and more prosperous United States of America which is not bent upon military invasions by the current administration into other countries. To date, we have invaded two such countries in the world. Currently, we are still holding sway over these two countries.
